BPJS Kesehatan Strengthens Synergy with Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) to Optimize JKN Services
BPJS Kesehatan Appreciates UNPRI’s Strategic Role as a Leading Academic Partner in Enhancing Healthcare Quality
Medan, June 18, 2026 — BPJS Kesehatan continues to expand strategic collaborations with higher education institutions to bolster the implementation of the National Health Insurance (JKN) Program. The President Director of BPJS Kesehatan, Mayjen TNI (Purn) Dr. dr. Prihati Pujowaskito, Sp.JK, FIHA, MMRS, FIMMA, conducted a working visit and delivered a public lecture to the academic community of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) on Wednesday (June 17, 2026). This visit marks a significant milestone in solidifying the partnership between the social security provider and academic institutions in North Sumatra.
During the session, the President Director affirmed that UNPRI serves as a strategic partner with comprehensive capacity to support the JKN program's sustainability. He commended UNPRI for developing an integrated health ecosystem, including RSU Royal Prima Medan, RS Royal Prima Marelan, RS UNPRI Tebingtinggi, RS Mata Prima Vision, and the Prima Dental and Oral Hospital. These facilities demonstrate UNPRI's readiness to support JKN's quality and cost-control pillars.
“Synergy with a leading university like UNPRI is essential for strengthening healthcare service quality. Universities act as strategic stakeholders in bridging scientific principles, promoting preventive healthcare, and ensuring equitable access,” stated the President Director. He further emphasized that UNPRI students serve as vital agents of change and contributors to evidence-based policy within the national health ecosystem.
To witness this synergy firsthand, the BPJS Kesehatan delegation conducted a campus tour of UNPRI’s healthcare facilities. This tour highlighted the university's advanced infrastructure, which meets the high standards required for JKN participants, and reflected the harmony between medical education and national healthcare service needs.
