Graduation Period II 2026: UNPRI Graduates 1,141 Students, Inaugurates Adjunct Professor from Malaysia
A Tangible Form of UNPRI's Commitment to Strengthening Global Academic Networks through the Inauguration of Adjunct Professors and Competitive Graduates.
Medan – Universitas Prima Indonesia (UNPRI) held its Period II Graduation for 2026 on Thursday and Friday (Feb 26-27, 2026) for Diploma, Bachelor, Master, and Doctoral levels. This solemn event was attended by the university's top leadership and guests of honor, including UNPRI Founder Prof. Dr. dr. I Nyoman Ehrich Lister, Chairman of the Daily Governing Board Prof. Dr. Tommy Leonard, Head of LLDIKTI Region 1 Prof. Drs. Saiful Anwar Matondang, and UNPRI Rector Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, as well as the board of directors of Prima Group and the Vice Rectors I through IV.
A total of 1,141 students from various educational levels were officially declared graduates and are ready to contribute to the professional world. This graduation was also a special moment with the inauguration of Prof. Dato' Sri Dr. Abu Hassan Asaari Abdullah, MBBS, FRCS (Edinburgh), FAMM, FAMS (Spore), FASE as an Adjunct Professor in the field of Emergency and Trauma Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FKKG) UNPRI.
UNPRI Rector, Prof. Dr. Chrismis Novalinda Ginting, expressed congratulations and appreciation to all graduates. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of readiness to face the Artificial Intelligence era and evolving global challenges. "Congratulations to the graduates on this achievement. But remember, this is not the end, but a new beginning in your career. You have an obligation to serve the nation, the state, and science and technology," she said.
The Rector also reminded graduates of the importance of adaptation and to continue to innovate. "Be adaptive and innovative graduates. Master not only hard skills but also soft skills that will differentiate you in the ever-changing world of work," she asserted. She added that UNPRI has now developed rapidly with 59 study programs ranging from applied bachelor's to specialists, with 16 programs accredited as "Unggul" (Excellent). "UNPRI is the first university in Indonesia to achieve international accreditation for its medical professional and bachelor of medicine programs, and the only private university in Sumatra with a professional psychology program."
Prof. Chrismis also shared that UNPRI has entered the QS World University Rankings as clear evidence of the university's commitment toward becoming a World Class University and to Go International. "Our curriculum is outcome-based, and we continue to innovate by strengthening partnerships with foreign universities," she explained.
Head of LLDIKTI Region 1, Prof. Drs. Saiful Anwar Matondang, stated that currently global and national issues merge, and campuses must participate in solving national problems. "According to the Kemdiktisaintek tagline, 'Impactful Campus, Impactful Students,' UNPRI has shown this concern through disaster response and recovery programs in Aceh Tamiang and Central Tapanuli," he said. He also highlighted UNPRI's contribution to meeting national health workforce needs by opening 8 specialist programs and opening a PSDKU in Pekanbaru.
One of the most memorable moments in this graduation was the inauguration of Prof. Dato' Sri Dr. Abu Hassan Asaari Abdullah as an Adjunct Professor in Emergency and Trauma Medicine at FKKG UNPRI. This inauguration is a statement of vision that UNPRI is a progressive and internationally-minded institution, as well as an important milestone in the journey toward a World Class University and to Go International. The presence of this Adjunct Professor from Malaysia opens opportunities for research collaboration and medical science development between Indonesia and countries in the Southeast Asian region.
