This experiment aims to determine how criminology overviewon Motorcycle theft acts in Medan (Overview Case in Medan Police). With a background after the release of Actson Indonesian police procedure on the efforts of the police in protecting, nurturing and serving the community. The method used in this thesis is juridicial normative and empirical jurisdiction. In this study, the first and the second issues number used normative juridical approach. Empirical juridicial approach is to look at the role of the Police in reporting and investigating motorcycle theft actors int the Police Area of Medan. Based on an analysis of the available data, the author concludes that the factors affecting the theft of a motorcycle are factors of individual, economic, education, environment, technology and and culture. The efforts made by law enforcement officials are the preventive and repressive. Preventive measures are carried out by the police are doing counseling and approach. Repressive prosecution for perpetrators of the theft of a motorcycle is through a criminal justice process and coaching in penitentiary or in prison.
