PERBEDAAN KONFORMITAS ANTARA REMAJA WANITA DAN REMAJA PRIA DI YAYASAN PENDIDIKAN SMA RAKSANA MEDAN

In adolescence period, male and female have high proximity with his or her peer-group for they can not only replace family ties but they can also become sources of affection, sympathy, understanding, experience sharing, and as a place to reach their autonomy and independence. Information which was derived from his/her friends often causes curiousity in the from of questions in themselves including ambiguous questions, and when an individual feels difficult to answer the questions, the aeasier for him/her to conform. The objective of the study is to examine empirically the diference of conformity level between female and male adolescence. The study was conducted on 120 adolescence students aged 16 – 20 years at SMA Raksana Medan. The participants consist of 60 male and 60 female adolescence students. Data were collected by using scale. To test conformity scale, the data were previously tested by validity and reliability testing by using Alpha Cronbach technique with the help of SPSS program 17.00 for Windows version. From the study, it is found that there are 30 valid items of 60 items available on the scale. The correlation value ranges between 0,177 and 0,474 with 0,864 reliability coefficient. From the data analysis using One Way Anova, it is found that F-value 65,998 with 0,000 level significance (p=0,05) indicating that there is a difference of conformity level between female adolescence and male adolesence at SMA Raksana Medan.
