ANALISIS IMPLEMENTASI KAWASAN TANPA ROKOK PADA PEGAWAI NEGERI SIPIL DI BADAN LINGKUNGAN HIDUP KOTA MEDAN

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2012, Indonesia ranks the third in the biggest number of smokers in the world after China and India. Global Tobacco Youth Survey (GYTS) states that Indonesia is the country with the highest rate of young smokers in the world. The first time a male smokes is when he is 12-13 years old while a female when she is < 7 years and 14-15 years old. The data from Kemenkes RI in 2013 revealed that the provinces which districts/towns make the regulation on KTR (No Smoking Are) are Yogyakarta (80%) and West Sumatera (73.68%). The objective of this research was to analyze the implementation of the policy on KTR in the government employees at the Environment Agency, Medan, in 2017. The research used cross sectional design. The samples were 50 respondents, taken by using total sampling technique. The result of the research, using chi square statistic test at the significance level of 95% (0.05), showed that knowledge of KTR was p=0.561 (α>0.05), attitude toward KTR was p=0.103 (α>0.05), and supervision on KTR was p=0.480 (α>0.05) so that it could be concluded that there was no correlation of knowledge, attitude, and supervision on KTR with smoking behavior at the Environment Agency, Medan. Meanwhile, sanction upon KTR was p=0.000 (α<0.05) which indicated that there was the correlation between sanction upon KTR with smoking behavior at the Environment Agency of Medan. It is recommended that the respondents not smoke at their working place because it can disturb non-smokers.
