FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN KADAR ASAM URAT PADA PEGAWAI DI DINAS KEBUDAYAAN PARIWISATA PEMUDA DAN OLAHRAGA KABUPATEN DAIRI TAHUN 2012

Based on data from The National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 2002, the number of gout sufferers in the United States reached 2.1 million. Most patients were men aged 40-50 yahun (90%) and women (10%) at the time of menopause. Indonesia is the 4th largest country in the world whose population is suffering from gout as released by Natural Bulletin. In Indonesia 35% of gout occurs in men under the age of 34 years. In women, uric acid levels are generally low and increases after the age of menopause.

This study aims to determine the factors associated with uric acid levels in employees at the Department of Tourism Culture Youth and Sports in Dairi Region in the Year of 2012. Data were taken were primary data and secondary data derived from population and the sample which are all civil servants and honorary staff working in the office as much as 49 people. This research is analytic survey with cross-sectional research design.

The results obtained that there is a relationship with the frequency of eating purine uric acid levels with p = 0.001 <0.05. But for physical activity levels of uric acid, there was no significant association with p value = 0.565> 0.05.

From this study, it is expected that all employees always maintain their diet, especially in terms of the consumption of foods with high in purines and conduct periodic checks to determine levels of uric acid in the blood.
