FAKTOR-FAKTOR YANG BERHUBUNGAN DENGAN PENYAKIT HIPERTENSI DIPUSKESMAS LAGUBOTI KABUPATEN TOBA SAMOSIR TAHUN 2012

Hypertension disease is a major problem in public health either in Indonesia or in the world. This disease is the second non contagious disease from 10 top disease in Puskesmas Laguboti. Based on the profile of Puskesmas Laguboti in 2011, that there were 1299 people got hypertension from 18.401 people.

This research is descriptive analytic type with cross sectional design that purposes to identifythe factors related with hypertension. This reseach is performed in territorial of Puskesmas Laguboti, regency of Toba Samosir in 2012, sampling is performed with accidental Sampling, technique with sampling quantity of 30 people. Instruments used are questionnaire, medical record, tensimeter, and stethoscope. Primary date is obtained from questionnaire that is distributed by researcher by direct interview and secondary date is obtained from patients medical record who come to check up and diagnosed hypertension.

Statistical test uses chi- square (X2) with mean degree α=0,05. The result of research indicates fat food consumption has a relation with hypertension X2 calculation > X2 table (7,444>5,991), salty food consumption has a relation with hypertension X2 calculation > X2 table (8,062 >5,991), family background has a relation with hypertension X2 calculation > X2 table (6,172 >5,991), weight does not have a relation with hypertension X2 calculation > X2 table (4,061 < 0,488)

Based on this research, it can be concluded that fat food consumption, salty food consumption, and family background have relation with hypertension. Medical experts are experted to actively contribute to give promotion and information about hypertension.
