Based on the results Riskesdas 2010, has been a decline in the national prevalence of malnutrition (weight for age) in children under five from 18.5% in 2007 to 17.9% in 2010. The prevalence of malnutrition of 5.4% in 2007 to 4.3% in 2010. Prevalence of nutritional short 18% in 2007 to 17.1% in 2010. The decrease also occurred in the prevalence of underweight children, which is very thin prevalence decreased 13.6% in 2007 to 13.3% in 2010. From the available data, 8 million or 35 percent of the 23 million Indonesian children under five suffer from stunting malnutrition category, meaning that nearly half of children under five have a lower weight than the standard height toddler age.

This study aims to determine the relationship of diet and nutritional status of children aged 1-5 years within the 12 villages Coral Wavy Year 2013. This type of research bersipat descriptive analytical cross-sectional study (cross-sectional) with a total population of 34 samples. The sampling technique used is total sampling and hypothesis by using chi-square test.

There is a significant relationship between frekkuensi meal with the nutritional status of children under five, obtained X2 hitung greater than X2 tabel (34.121> 9.488). There is a significant relationship types / variations of food ingredients and nutritional status, acquired X2 hitung greater than X2 tabel (11.174> 5.591). There is a significant relationship between the amount of nutrient content of the nutritional status of children, obtained X2 hitung greater than X2 tabel (24.606> 9.488).

Expected for toddlers mothers should provide nutritious foods in accordance with the guidelines in four of five perfectly healthy toddler growth and development in order to run well so that is also good nutritional status.
